2025 – https://arena.illuvium.io/
Illuvium is an independent game studio working on a blockchain-based gaming ecosystem composed of multiple interconnected titles.
I worked on the UI implementation of Illuvium: Arena, a strategic autobattler developed in Unreal Engine 5, where players assemble teams of Illuvials and compete in PvE and PvP matches.
In this role, I was responsible for taking high-fidelity UI designs provided in Figma and turning them into functional interfaces in the game client using Unreal Engine 5.
My work included:
- Implementing UX/UI screens and components with UMG and C++, ensuring responsiveness and visual polish across screens.
- Designing UI logic that correctly replicates across a multiplayer environment, handling network state and server synchronization in Unreal.
- Integrating dynamic UI behaviour with API calls to reflect real-time game data and player progression.
- Creating UI animations and transitions to enhance feedback and visual clarity for players.
- Implementing Gameplay Abilities using Unreal’s Gameplay Ability System (GAS).
- Collaborating within a large remote team, using Plastic SCM for version control and Jira to manage tasks and deliverables.
- Ensuring UI features were robust, scalable, and maintainable throughout iterative development and testing phases.
This experience strengthened my ability to balance technical constraints and artistic fidelity while contributing to a live service game with complex interaction patterns and multiplayer considerations.
